Ekos Pricing: Transparency and Fair Trade
We deliver transparency and fairness in the following way:
Fair to Buyer
To be fair to the buyer the price needs to reflect the least cost path to producing the environmental outcome. This creates value for money and hopefully motivates more buying. The buyer also needs to get what they pay for. This is why we have measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) requirements for all Ekos projects.
Fair to Seller
To be fair to the seller the unit price needs to cover all reasonable costs of producing the environmental outcome. This includes any direct opportunity costs to the resource owner, the cost of MRV, together with a modest margin for the social entrepreneur who built the project. These costs are transparently built into the unit price.
Our goal at Ekos is to facilitate a game-changing increase in funding for environmental protection by unlocking private sector finance for investments in nature. The beneficiaries of this endeavour are all of us.
